With over 3.6 crore titles indexed the platform serves collectors libraries and researchers worldwide who seek detailed book information and quick discovery.

The platform was initially developed using Yii2 Framework and Elasticsearch and later completely redeveloped on the MERN Stack with Apache Solr to achieve higher scalability and richer interactivity.

The Challenge

  • •Slower search speeds complex metadata limited scalability and outdated front-end experience

The Solution

RareBiblio underwent a complete redevelopment using the MERN stack paired with Apache Solr for high-speed indexing and precision search.

The backend evolved from Yii2 to Node.js and Express with MongoDB managing multilingual bibliographic data and SolrSearch powering faceted filtering fuzzy matching and relevance ranking.
